There's a place in heaven...for the dad who never sees his kids. For the girl who thinks she has to dress provocatively to get attention. For the guy who thinks he has to have a notch put on his belt to record his latest conquest. For the pimp who traffics under-aged girls from overseas. For the drug pusher. For the gangsters. For the mom who talks down to her kids. For the kids who mouth off at their teachers and parents. For the people who tailgate us at the light. For the people who drive across 3 lanes of traffic on the freeway so they won't miss their exit. For the leader of that Ponzi scheme who stole millions from his victims. For the heads of Enron who helped start the fall of our economy. For the hedge fund owners who have swindled home owners out of their homes, and brought down the dream for citizens to own a house in the United States. For the woman who told me in a snarky tone, behind me at the checkout stand, "I'm in no hurry." For the biploar boss. For the preacher who is taking his congregation to the cleaners, and then going all the way to the bank. For other spiritual leaders and advisors who have unknowingly lead their flock in the wrong direction.
However, if there is no place in heaven for those who rub us the wrong way, who victimize millions, who make jokes at other's expense...
Then who are you to say that if you are a "good"enough person that you are going to Heaven?
You might say,
"But there are so many people that he might save. How could he possibly have room for little old me? A sinner who can't begin to measure up?"
God, through his son, Jesus Christ, said it himself. He has prepared a special place for us, ALL of us.
John 14: 2-3 says "In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again, and receive you unto myself that where I am, there ye may be also."
